Access to healthcare is important, particularly following a period where a lot of Michigan and the 14th District were out of work and lacked health insurance. Over arching healthcare legislation, such as Obamacare, is NOT the answer to the nation's problem.

Most people would not disagree with the idea that a good healthcare system is important in a highly developed country like the United States. The appropriate way to improve our healthcare system is through smaller pieces of legislation that are all part of a larger puzzle. It took two presidential administrations, countless hours of work by our military and intelligence services and almost a decade before we caught and killed Osama Bin Laden. Proper healthcare reform will not happen in one piece of legislation, there are too many variables.

As your Congressman, I will work with colleagues who have experience in the healthcare profession to ensure that reform happens, and it happens the correct way.
